SIG, Committee and Officer Reports (in absentia): * Rose Hill--Conference Sponsorship Committee We now have "drafts" of the following documents: 1. Joint Letter (from Exhibits and Sponsorship to prospective exhibitors and sponsors) 2. Sponsorship Program Fact Sheet 3. Sponsorship Confirmation Letter 4. Sponsor Invoice 5. Sponsor Thank You Letter 6. Spreadsheet with List of Potential Sponsors--developed by Mark Ace * Rose Hill--ELSIG ** Tom White wrote a Publicity Strategies document--great work! ** Elizabeth Millager will be working with Rose Hill--she'll be the registrar for the seminar to be held on March 10, 2001. Liza Bauman sent out press releases on 1/23. ** Looking for someone to present the Tools section of the seminar. (Mark Ace recommended Jon Lee.) ** All parts of the workbook have been updated except for the Salary Survey information, which will be updated by Tom in Feb.. * Skip Martin--Contractors SIG **The Jan. Contractors meeting had a presentation on Macromedia Authorware by Phillip Kernan. There were only seven in attendance. Much was revealed and many questions were asked and answered. A good meeting, all in all. **We have consistently had small turnouts this season. This in itself isn't bad. The issue is that we are not covering expenses, thus causing the chapter to pick up the slack. Also, Diane and I will not be continuing in our roles as managers next season. We are looking for replacements, will announce the openings, and ask Jim Slaight to add the position(s) to his ever growing list. Everyone, please keep on the lookout for potential replacements. * Ryan Gibson--Online SIG The Jan. Online meeting went well at Autodesk, with about 15 attendees. Made about $60 from door fees. Already planning on 2/21 meeting at Tektronix. Should also make a profit on that one too. * Patti Loverink--Feb. Dinner Meeting The menu and facilities are taken care of, and the speaker is arranged. Kymm is arranging the seminar with Andrea. Please make sure someone is there to open and close the meeting. At the Jan. meeting we allowed Job Seekers and Job Announcers to stand up and make a short speech. People REALLY liked this, so I think we should go back to doing this, even if it means starting the meeting five minutes early to allow time for it. * Jeff Jansen--Treasurer Checking balance= $12,190.62. Money Market balance= $5,030.39. Total= $17,221.01. SIG and Officer Reports continued (present): * Robin Schuckmann--Newsletter Co-Editor The latest issue is completed and is being "Weberized". The next issue will focus on editing. * Jeffrey Harris--Webmaster We discussed whether to have community calendar links to ASTD, Winwriters, SAO, Chifoo etc.. Jeffrey would like a student volunteer to validate the links. Info about the Lonewriters and Telecommuting SIGs will be deleted from the site. * Liza Bauman--Publicity Liza has added more newspapers and schools to the list and plans to update the contact list. She will publicize the Getting Started workshop and wonders when the drop dead date is. * Christy Graunke--Publicity Christy is redoing the chapter brochure and wil be helping with PR for the competition. * Jon Harvey--Hospitality Attendance for Program meetings has been slipping a bit. We had 39 RSVPers for the Lance Gelein meeting and 10 walk-ins. Rachel and Christine acted as greeters to welcome new people. * Jim Slaight--Volunteer Coordinator We still need a Mentoring Program Co-Manager; Award Competition Recognitions Manager/ Committee members; 2001 Regional Conference Catering Coordinator, 2001 Regional Conference Speakers' Assistant; Regional Conference Hospitality Team; and Manager's SIG Manager(s). * Rachel Houghton--Competition All distinguished entries have been mailed and the award letters are ready to go. We decided on charges and menu items for the banquet. 30
