The minutes from Dec. 2, 1999 were approved. 2. Patti reported the following from Robin Hilp, Indexing and Online manager. The Indexing SIG will not meet in Feb.; see Robin if you would like details about the Seattle meeting. The Online SIG meeting Feb. 7th will be about corporate intranets. 3. Reports *Contractor SIG--Skip Martin William Cleve spoke about tax issues to about 18 at our last meeting. The next meeting will concern portfolios. *Public Relations--Rachel Houghton Rachel has finalized the PR for Ginny Redish and the Awards Banquet. *Managers SIG--Erling Nielsen Last week's meeting was about Information Design Metrics with 7-8 people attending. On 2/18 the meeting topic will be process maturity in companies. *Hospitality--Jon Harvey Jon needs computers for the Awards Banquet. We discussed whether $900 for four computers is a reasonable cost. Jon will handle the RSVPs for both Redish events in March. *Tresurer--Jeff Jansen We have $12,423 in cash. A pdf for the reimbursement form is on the Web site and reimbursement requests should be sent to Jeff's home. *Awards Banquet--Melissa Moore (for Katherine Murphy) We've reserved the Oak Room at the Greenwood which can hold up to 230 people. We'll have tables for the entries, a stage and a podium. The award winners will stand rather than going to the podium, with the exception of the Distinguished and Best of Show winners. (There are 13 distinguished and three best of the show in the three major categories.) The cost will be $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers. We will have a no host bar through dinner and registration in the lobby (no credit cards). Each entry will only receive one certificate (including a frame). Additional copies will be available for $10 each. *Telecommuting SIG--Jean Richardson The Telecommuting SIG will meet at Telecommute-L this week. *Mentoring Program--Jean Richardson The mentoring program is about to open enrollment again. *The Galley--Teri DallaCosta Teri reports that 16 peple are working on our e-zine now. *Lone Writers--Christine Champeaux The Jan. meeting was cancelled; the Feb. meeting topic in interviewing SMEs. *Volunteering--Christine Champeaux Christine will be writing an article on volunteering to recruit for next year. We need to replace Rachel and John Fysh. 4. Other Business *Phyllis Thompson reports that both the Redish workshop and program meeting will be on usability. Do we need a larger venue for these popular events? * Dan Fisher, a new member transplanted from Minnesota, is interested in reactivating and coordinating a table at monthly program meetings where job seekers and hiring managers can connect, leave and pick up business cards and resumes, etc.. * Patti Loverink is taking officer pictures for the Web. Rose Hilll's telediscussion on contracting will be publicized in the future *Mark Ace reports we need volunteers for the new membership directory effort. We also need four reams of letterhead. Perhaps the same printer could do the letterhead and the directory. Tom White is working on the salary survey. The meeting was adjourned at about 7:30.
