Send suggestions to mark@ace1.com. Jeff Harris will add a blurb to the WVC Web site, asking for theme ideas. Mark is in the process of gathering volunteers and laisons from other Region 7 chapters. 250-350 attendees are expected. Competition - Christine Champeaux Judging applications will go out to all senior members (5+ years of membership) on Monday. These will go to the WVC and Mid-Valley chapters. A flyer and theme are in the works. Entry fees: $50 if any entrants are STC members; $75 if no entrants are STC members. The WVC competition is only open to Region 7 members this year. Christine and Rachel are looking for printers to sponsor the competition. New Fee Structure - Patti Loverink Meeting attendees approved the following fee structure for the 2000-2001 season: * Members: $15. * Students/Chapter Admin. Council Members: $13. * Non-members: $20. * STC WVC Officers: no charge * Non-RSVP rate: $3. Additional Christine Champeau presented the idea of charging for "season" admission for a reduced rate. She and Jeff Harris will write guidelines to present to the Council for consideration. Senior Members Program - Greg Vogel * WVC Chapter current has 120 senior members * Ideas for Recognizing Sr. Members: * Name tags for meetings * Breakfast, lunch or dinner for senior members only * Free admission to chapter meetings (1-2) * Print names on Web site, email or newsletter; feature senior member profiles on Web site Other comments: Mark reminded the Council of the Senior Member Survey idea and suggested that we do that. Reminded us that many senior members have indicated the good program meetings draw senior members. Seattle chapter has had a breakfast for Sr. members and it was received well. Erling (new senior member) indicated that he likes the name tags recognition. Also suggested a round table discussion among senior members where they can share views, discuss issues; also likes the newsletter bio idea. Misc. Issues: Chapter Archivist: Phyllis suggested that Jim Slaight recruit for this position. Someone suggested an anniversary celebration, which brought up the question of the chapter's age. Volunteer of the Month - Send votes for August volunteer to Jim Slaight. Profile the volunteer of the month. Contractors' SIG: Diane Purser/Skip Martin - the rates for this SIG need to be increased to cover costs of the room fee. Seminars: Feb. - Andrea Aimes Mar. - Joanne Hackos Mark suggested that Joanne Hackos present a workshop tied to the Region 7 conference. He'll coordinate this with Joanne.
