Administrative Council Minutes for Sept. 28, 2000 Present: Phyllis Thompson, Patti Loverink, Mark Ace, Greg Vogel, Rachel Houghton, Robin Schuckmann, Debbie Layton, Kymm Nelsen, Jim Slaight, Allyn Bowers, Kate Evans The Aug. 24th minutes were approved. Treasurer's Report: We have $3,958.87 and expect approximately $13,000 from National. SIG and Council Reports: SIGs reported by Kymm Nelsen-- * Ryan reported that Margot spoke about XML at the Sept. meeting to 35 people; they made $70. * Diane Purser of the Contractor's SIG reports that their next meeting topic will be Levels of Contracting. * Jeffrey Harris, Web Manager, welcomed Yvonne Earnshaw as the new Web Assistant. * Rose Hill of the Getting Started ELSIG wants to know if we should set a date for cancelling the workshop if there is insufficient enrollment. Oct. 15th is the cutoff date for the Greenwood Inn. * Christine Champeaux has mailed out the competition entries. We only have 11 judges and need at least 20. * Robin Schuckmann, Willamette Galley Co-Editor, distributed a handout detailing the themes for our quarterly e-zine: Technology, Technical Editing, Tools, and Writing about Technology, and the content of our next newsletter, which will probably come out in November. * Patti Loverink expressed appreciation for all the help she received in making our Sept. meeting at Timberline so successful. Our Oct. meeting at the Greenwood will be a progressive meeting about Writing for Niche Markets with four round tables, featuring Margaret Jennings, Ken Strandberg, Jenny Greenleaf, and Tom White. We need to decide soon where we would like to have our Dec. holiday party. Greenwood Inn? Kennedy School? Patti will check on the cost of a clip-on lapel microphone. * Debbie Layton had photos of the Frame and Sept. program meetings. * Jim Slaight, Volunteer Co-ordinator, has a list of volunteer positions needed for the regional conference. We also need more competition judges. * Greg Vogel, Employment Manager, has prepared a draft of a Senior Survey which he distributed. This survey will be online. * Mark Ace handed out the logo for 2001, a Communication Odyssey, our regional conference.
