The workbook will be updated and PR will start in January. * Ryan Gibson- Online. He expects stronger spring attendance. * Jeffrey Harris- Web Manager. We will need a new ISP by April. Jeffrey is working with Yvonne on the site restructuring, which will be ready by April. He asked Debbie Layton for photos for the site. * Debbie Layton- Staff Photographer. We discussed how to assemble and archive chapter materials. A CD is a possibility. * Christine Champeaux- Competition. Judging will be done Dec. 9th at Cypress. The banquet will be in mid-March. Christine will work on the competition next year, but we will need to recruit someone else for the following year. * Mark Ace- Region 7 Conference. Rikki Nyman of Medscape will be creating the Web site; PR will become more active in March. We have a $60,000 gap and need to find corporate sponsors. We may have to cancel the Friday banquet and ask people to pay for the cruise. Mark is working on sponsorship; Garret was recruiting in Hawaii, and Liza Bauman will call for papers again. We are still looking for a keynote speaker. * Greg Vogel- Employment. The STC Senior Survey will be a Web site survey. Liza will publicize it, and it will also be on the Dec. home page. We have ~125 senior members. * Jeff Jansen- Treasurer. Our current balance is $18,000.40. Jeff presented our profit and loss figures from July 1 through Nov. 29. * Peggy Knapp- Chancellor of Education. Two new STC-U classes are being proposed by Lisa Burk and Jean Richardson: Intro. to Interpersonal Communication-Preventing Conflict and Project Team Conflict Skill Building, both six hour Saturday classes. The cost would be ~ $50 per seminar for members and $75 for nonmembers. The classes would probably be at PSU in Feb. and March. Other possible classes might be Field-based Audience Analysis Basics, Ethical Dilemmas in Technical Communication, Best Practices for Contractors, and Virtual Communication and Conflict Management. * Phyllis Thompson- President. As a memorial to Margot we discussed donating money and/or computer equipment to Dove Lewis Animal Hospital, one of Margot's favorite charities. Erin Riley will work on a grant to get matching money from STC National. * Jim Slaight- Volunteer Coordinator. We have three positions to fill: Award Competition Recognition Manager/Committee Members, 2001 Regional Conference Catering Coordinator, and Lone Writers SIG Manager. * Phyllis Thompson- President. We decided to enter the National PR competition. Rachel, Kymm and Margot took care of this last year. Christy will talk to Liza Bauman about this year's entry, which is due in February. * Jeffrey Haris- Web Manager. Jeffrey spoke to someone at Wells Fargo about credit card printer/swipers. Two would cost $250; we decided against this. Phyllis recommended we ask for payment in advance for seminars (with a refund policy), starting with Andrea Ames. * Phyllis Thompson- President. Phyllis would appreciate some help with a disability survey being put out by the STC National Special Needs Committee.
