Admin Council Minutes Oct. 25, 2001

* The Sept. minutes were approved.
* Christy will postpone her student portfolio competition idea until next
year.
* Jeff reported we have $18, 593.26 in our treasury, having received $14,
277 from national.
* According to Rachel, we have 56 competition entries and 20 judges. The
banquet will be the third Thursday in February. She also reported that
things are on track for the Chapter Achievement Award.
* Peggy Knapp will be providing scholarship information next month.
* Patti indicated the chapter membership directory is ready to go, thanks to
Jeff Jansen. We will mail out the CDs. She also will check into local and
national logo issues on our stationery. We voted to have Jacki Bell come up
with a design which gracefully integrates both logos on the same page. We'll
approve the design by e-mail.
* We discussed whether or not to increase the fee for the jobs list for
nonmembers, which is now $15, $20 if mailed. We decided to table this
pending more information.
* Robin Schuckmann, our newsletter editor, is the Volunteer of the Month.
* Patti prepared a spreadsheet detailing 15 ideas on what to do with our
$5,000 surplus. We agree to lower the cost of program meetings to $8 for
students, $10 for members, and $15 for nonmembers. Kymm will investigate
renegotiating our contract with the Greenwood. The possibility of moving
program meetings to PSU was also discussed, as were workshops on career
counselling and job hunting. We will continue to discuss this at our next
meeting, Thursday Nov. 29th.
* Rachel and Christy will work on PR about the benefits of membership with
Jeff, Kathee, and Patti.
