Mentorship opportunities would be open to students, and students may volunteer for our activities, such as the annual publications competition banquet. We will also invite a student member to attend our Admin Council meetings. (Patti and Ellen Fenwick met with the students on Feb. 20th.) * We plan to have a larger presence at this year's 2002 Communicators Conference. We also would like to have more community outreach next year. * Robin Schuckmann told us the latest newsletter issue will be ready in two weeks. The topic for the issue following will be careers and education. We'll focus on local college programs and ask Maralee Sautter to write about the student chapter. The article deadline is April 15th with a publication date target of May 15th. We also asked Christy to write about moving from being a student to becoming a technical professional. * Joel and Jean reported that the Online SIG has 15-20 people per meeting, and the meetings are going well. E-learning is the topic for the next two meetings. * Patti reported that the next MarComm SIG meeting will be on writing case studies and white papers, with Ken Strandberg speaking. * We discussed the date of the next Entry-Level Getting Started workshop. Tentatively we're looking at April 20th, depending on Phyllis' schedule. * The Single Sourcing SIG will be discussing writing for single sourcing on 3/18. * Jeff Jansen reported we have about $10,200 in the bank, but approximately $2,670 in bills to pay from the Awards banquet. We are expecting approximately $10,000 in returns from the Region 7 October Conference to arrive in late April or early May. * Rachel indicated we have all our activities and paperwork complete for a chapter achievement award. * We discussed our new logo. * We talked about the new member orientation from 5-6 March 21st, at the monthly program meeting. Lance Gelein's program topic is career management, and his all day workshop on March 22nd is on project management. * April 13th we're having a strategic planning session. * The chapter now owns a digital camera, and we will be talking about archiving at the next meeting. * We discussed having the End of the Year party June 20th at the City Grill (formerly Atwaters). A decision has not been finalized. * In Sept. 2003 we will be hosting the STC Board of Directors. * Margaret Jennings will be our next Chancellor of Education. * We reviewed and approved the 2002 revision of our chapter bylaws, sent them to the Bylaws Committee, and expressed appreciation to Phyllis Thompson for work well done. * Rachel Houghton received the Feb.
