STCWVC Admin Council Meeting
Meeting Day/Time/Location: 3rd Thursday of each month, 6-8pm, Greenwood 
Gardens, 1st floor conference room.

Last month's meeting Minutes unanimously approved.

Treasurer's report: Last fiscal year: income:$22,838, vs 45,093 for the 
previous year; Expenses: 34,268 vs 40,494. Net income: (11,338) vs 4,665. 
Cash flow will become an issue depending on future expenses for board 
meetings, and program meetings. We received $14k on membership rebate. 
Most of the loss in income in past years was from conferences and 
additional membership. 

We have 100 fewer members this year compared to last year. 

Filing for Grants: deadline is Oct 15th. 

RH: We need to structure the Board of Director meetings to meet 
requirements and our budgetary limits. 
JR: Free or nearly free facility can be sought. 
Intel's JFCC is being considered. 

September Board of Director/Program meeting: can't subsidize anymore, so 
the member rate may be higher. 
RH: SR member breakfast budget? $600, 900 in previous year. 
PL: Requesting $1000 budget for current year. 
Conference: $1,400
JR: Can we cut postage altogether? 
GR: Other expenses: Holiday and Recognition dinners. 
JR: will work with KK, MS and RP to develop a budget and vendors for 
upcoming meetings

Zoomerang: TW: handout: Role of Strategic Contributor - Survey Results 
Membership is 383. Response to questionnaire is about 38%. 
Summary: Anything having to do with career development and this society 
is regarded as important. 
TW: Summaries should be posted on the website.
TW: Zoomerang will be used to create a  chapter-wide salary survey. TW is 
open to suggestions on categorizing the questions. KC will assist TW.
KN: webmaster position is time-intensive. TW: Should promote positions 
like this as a job opportunity and resume builder. 
KK: Membership & mailing list should be one position.

Open Council Positions: 
RH: Newsletter, website, mailing lists & Membership are open. 

Regional Outreach: 
JR: Next call-in September. 

Manger Reports: 
Competition: CG: Should be up on the web in the next two weeks. Deadline 
is in October. Theresa Shelton is/will be the Entries/hospitality manager. 
Newsletter: CK: asst editor - main issue is getting articles in. Articles 
are shared among the other 7 regions. Will set deadline for getting 
articles to Aug 15th. 
Mentoring: JR: Recognition is coming in the form an article in the 
Harvard management communication letter, part of the Harvard Business 
School. 

Report on Leadership Training: 
Office training: KN: Chapter achievement award... 
RH: Puget Sound volunteer handbook... 
$1,000 cost for leadership training. 
JR: Can we set up a local-only STC membership?
