Dates for Nov/Dec meetings: Dec meeting will be on Dec 11th. Treasurer’s report: (RP – separate sheet) $300 profit from the Oct meeting. Facilities Report (MS) $25 for non-members, $5 for members. 50 people attendance expected. No-host bar, free parking at the Malloy. PCC auditorium rent is $112. Food will be in a different room (rm 1524). Several possible new locations investigated. No locations favored yet. No sites planned for next year. Jean has speakers lined up for next 6 months. Volunteer Opportunities (MKC) Current openings: Pubs manager, Pubs assistant, Competition manager. RH is filling in on the pubs manager. RH to give MCK job description text. TS: The position of Assistant hospitality manager is open. Skip Martin would like to step-down. Requirements: Attend meetings to take money, write receipts, hand out nametags, etc. Website (WB) - Survey is up. Will stay up for 10 days (till Sunday) - Meeting with Kim to strategize major upgrades. - Currently paying $240/yr for web hosting. Will look into switching to easystreet.com for non-profit discount. Zoomerang (Tom White not present; report distributed; attached): Worked with Maralee to launch the evaluation survey for October's chapter meeting: "The Science of Designing and Conducting Effective Meetings." There were 9 respondents, offering varied comments. I would welcome feedback from any of you who might have an interest in this survey. A few caveats: * These questions are preliminary, so the exact questions or wording is not yet completed. * Although we could add questions, it is important to keep the survey short and focused. Too long, and it will be daunting for members to respond. * Questions, as well as suggested changes or additions, are subject to being revised as might be appropriate to make answers to questions easier to analyze or quantify. [For example, asking "What kind of work do you do?" is really pretty broad. It is better to give people multiple choice questions than open-ended ones if we want to be able to categorize a question's response.] RH: proposed salary survey discussed. Send comments to the admin list or to RH. This is a local survey; not for national compilation. SR Member Breakfast: (Patti Loverink – separate report emailed; attached) o. The Senior Member breakfast is scheduled for 11/6 at 7:15 AM at the Greenwood Inn. This breakfast is open to Sr. Members and the elected officers. Sr. Members are being asked to contribute $5 to this breakfast to help reduce our costs. o. At the breakfast, I'll ask for volunteers for the 2003-2004 Sr. Member Advisory Panel. I'll follow up via email with an invitation for people to participate. While we don't have an agenda for the Panel, we should have one in place in case something comes up. Competition (CG) 60 entries; 26 judges – 1st meeting next Thurs. 6-7pm. Took in $3,375 last year’s competition. Dec 6th is when they turn in their forms.
