Willamette Valley Chapter 2012–2013 Competition Entry Forms
Have you or your company produced technical communication products that you think are worthy of awards? Would you like your work to be recognized by your peers? This call for entries is your invitation to participate in the WVC Competition.

The Call for Entries provides information on the deadline, entry fees, and information on preparing your entry.
Who is eligible?
The STC International Summit Awards are open to everyone who produces technical communication. Entrants do not have to be members of STC. You may enter work as an individual or on behalf of a colleague or subordinate.
What can be entered?
Entries must:
contain sufficient technical, scientific, medical, or similar content to qualify as technical communication
have been produced or substantially revised within 24 months preceding September 1 of the current year
have been originally prepared for and accepted for publication by a client, employer, or publisher.
Entries are subject to all restrictions listed in the “General Information and Competition Rules" document.
How are the competitions structured?
STC offers two levels of competition:
Local and regional competitions are the first level of competition and are sponsored by single or multiple chapters or special interest groups.
International Summit Competition is the final competition level. Only winners of the Distinguished and Excellence in Technical Communication at the local or regional level are eligible for the International Summit Competition. Eligible entrants will be notified regarding submitting their winning entry to this level of competition.
Competition Categories
The WVC Competition accept entries in all of
the categories defined by the International Summit Competition. For

What awards are given?
Three levels of recognition are awarded in each competition category. These awards, in descending order, are:
Distinguished
Excellence
Merit
One Best of Show award is presented for each of competition division:
Informational Materials
Instructional Materials
Promotional Materials
User Support Materials
Preparing Your Entry
1. Complete all four pages of the WVC Submission Form.
2. Make five copies of your entry.
3. Make six copies of the Descriptive Information section of the WVC Submission Form (pages 1-3).
4. Create one entry packet by attaching the following items:

Check or money order for the competition entry fee. Please make checks payable to STC WVC.

Deadline, Fees, and Where to Submit
The deadline for the WVC Competition is Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
