2007-2008 WVC Competition Entry Submission Forms and Instructions

The Willamette Valley Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication will accept entries to its Technical Publications, Online Communication, and Technical Art Competitions until Friday, October 12, 2007. Instructions for submitting entries are provided below.

The Call for Entries (Complete Instructions and Required Forms)

The complete rules, instructions, and required forms for submitting an entry to one or more of the 2007-2008 Willamette Valley Chapter competitions are provided in the Call for Entries, which can be downloaded using the links below. The form can be downloaded in either Word or PDF format. Both documents contain interactive versions of the Entry Form and Entry Description sheet that must accompany every entry. You can enter your information into these forms while viewing them in Word or Acrobat Reader, and then print and sign them, or you can print the blank forms and fill them out by hand. All forms must be submitted in hardcopy with the entries being submitted.

If you have any trouble downloading the Call for Entries, please contact Jeff Williams at wvccomp@comcast.net.

Competition Categories

The WVC Competitions accept entries in all of the categories defined by the international STC competitions. For descriptions of these categories, see the WVC Competition Categories page.

Preparing Your Entry

Before submitting an entry, please download and review the Call for Entries, which contains the required forms that must accompany every entry and complete instructions for preparing and submitting entries.

For each entry you want to submit, complete an Entry Submission Form and Description of the Competition Entry, following the detailed directions in the Call for Entries. You will need three copies of the completed Entry Submission Form and seven copies of the completed Description of the Competition Entry for each entry.

Your entry must include four clean copies of the work being submitted for consideration. (If you are submitting a work to multiple competitions, you must submit four copies of the work and the required forms and fees to each competition.) Attach one copy of the Description of the Competition Entry to each of the four copies of the work. Please attach the forms to each entry with a paper clip or binder clip. Do not use staples.

Staple one of the three remaining copies of the Description of the Competition Entry to each of the three copies of the Entry Submission Form. Save one of these stapled packets for your records and attach the other two packets to your entry fee check (see below). Note: One of the Entry Submission Forms submitted should be the signed original. The second may be a copy

Submission Fees, Address, and Deadline

The fee for each entry is determined by the STC membership status (or student status) of the contributors who created the entry, according to the following schedule (lowest rate applies):

  • All contributors are students: $35

  • At least one contributor belongs to the Willamette Valley or Mid-Valley STC Chapter: $75

  • At least one contributor is an STC member: $125

  • No contributors belong to STC (any chapter): $150

Please make checks payable to STCWVC for the appropriate amount. You may submit a single check as payment for multiple entries.

To submit your entry, send the four copies of the work (each with an Entry Description attached), the two Entry Form/Entry Description packets, and your entry fee payment to:

Jeff Williams

Lingo Systems
15115 SW Sequoia Parkway
