Thank You to the Membership

By Phyllis Thompson

The year has gone by amazingly fast and I've been honored to spend this year as the Willamette Valley Chapter President. The chapter continues to grow and map new achievements--this year we've sponsored several seminars, continued to increase the quality of our program meetings, reached out to our senior members (those with five or more years in STC), and explored ways to increase the level of participation by local businesses.

I leave the chapter in very capable hands. The presidency is filled by succession from the first VP spot and I move into the Immediate Past President position. This process provides the chapter with continuity from year to year and also allows the incoming president to learn the job before taking it on.

Patti Loverink will be an excellent Chapter President. She brings amazing organizational skills to the job and also a vivid creative energy. I'm sure the chapter will continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of the membership. Please let us know when you have ideas about how the Willamette Valley can help you. Our primary goal is to offer benefits to the membership, and we are always open to hearing about new ways that we can do that, either through sponsoring programs and classes that you need or through networking opportunities where you can take advantage of the collective wisdom of the chapter membership.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to work with a great community of people!
