Volunteer Appreciation & New Officer Induction


Event Description

Celebrate the 2006 - 2007 WVC volunteers! If you volunteered, come celebrate and have dinner on us! Visit with local technical communicators and enjoy a seated, three-course meal.

Meet the new officers serving on the 2007 - 2008 WVC Admin Council and watch them take the "technical communicator non oath of office" in harmony.

With some luck and a few musicians, our newest Associate Fellow Dick Miller may be there to sing the Tech Writer Blues. Don't miss the June event!

Date: Thursday, June 21, 2007, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Time:

  • 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Networking with no host cash bar
  • 7:00 p.m. - 7:45 p.m., Seated Dinner
  • 7:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Volunteer awards and new officer induction

Cost:

FREE for volunteers
$10 members and students
$15 non-members

An RSVP is required in order to arrange adequate seating and order an appropriate amount of entrees.

Dinner includes a salad, dessert, and your choice of one of the following entrees: Grilled salmon filet, Rib eye steak, or Portobello ravioli.

Email your RSVP to the WVC-STC Hospitality Manager, Dave Thompson, at davet@exgate.tek.com by Monday, June 18, 2007 at 4 PM. Earlier replies are encouraged. Please indicate an entree selection (fish, beef, or vegetarian) for each person in your party.

The Days Inn is located on the corner of SW Sixth and Columbia near Portland State University.

Parking:

The Days Inn Hotel provides complimentary parking and is within 2 blocks of numerous bus lines and the Portland Streetcar.
