  • Barnes & Noble University (Barnes & Noble.com/Online Courses): This site offers more than 50 courses every month on a wide variety of subjects, from poetry to finance to programming. Courses, taught by authors and experts, are designed to provide in-depth learning.
  • Dr. Dobbs.com
  • FindTutorials.com: This site enables access to hundreds of free tutorials, online training courses for discounted fees, an IT job data base with thousands of daily updated positions, and a host of additional IT resources.
  • HowStuffWorks (authored by Marshall Brain): Similar to SoYouWanna.com below, this site is virtually self-explanatory!
  • Microsoft® Education/Tutorials: This site lists practical tutorial guides designed to help students, teachers, and administrators learn how to use Microsoft® software in the classroom.
  • In & Out of the Classroom with Microsoft Office XP presents tutorial information about the Office XP suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook® 2002.
  • SoYouWanna.com: This site claims to "teach you how to do all the things nobody taught you in school." It features explanations for all sorts of life actions and behaviors, broadly categorized by topics such as Bizarre, Food & Drink, Money, and Technology.
  • SmartPlanet™: Sponsored by CNET Networks and powered by Element K, this site promotes career advancement through its featured IT certification and state-of-the-art training in programming, Web design, and more. It lists over 600 top-notch courses in the "hottest computing topics--all guaranteed to help you develop the skills you need to get ahead."
  • tutorialfind: This site lists the newest tutorial releases, as well as those by various categories.
  • Virtual University (VU): This site bills itself "as the world's oldest and largest online learning community" and as "a pioneer in Internet-based education."
  • W3Schools.com: This site features numerous free Web building tutorials, from those for basic HTML and XHTML to those for advanced XML, XSL and WAP.
  • Webmonkey powered by Atomz.com and part of the Lycos® Network; Lycos is a registered trademark of Carnegie Mellon University): This site bills itself as "the web developer's resource", featuring links to various How-to Library and Quick Reference sites by subject and tips for Beginner, Builder, and Master levels of Web development experience.
