Volunteer with the STC

The STC currently has a range of opportunities for anyone who wants to help the organization and spend some time with other energetic technical communicators. All you need is the time it takes to make a few phone calls, compose some email, or attend an occasional meeting.

Our Volunteer Coordinator is Tysa Fennern at volunteer@stcwvc.org. She works to match volunteers with various tasks in the chapter. Please feel free to see what kinds of opportunities are available, or to just put your name in for future possibilities.

Mentoring Program

The STC's latest project is the fostering of mutually beneficial relationships between senior and entry-level technical communicators. The level of involvement is flexible, and the payoff is one you can only get through a personal relationship with another professional. The current session, started in March, is already in progress. There will be a new session, where new mentors will be available, later in the Fall. Check with the Program Coordinator, Jean Richardson. Learn more about the Mentoring Program.

Newsletter

The STC's online newsletter is looking for short articles of interest to technical communicators. Pieces are usually quite brief and reach a wide audience of professionals. Contact Newsletter Co-Editors Valerie M. Ball or Carol Larson.
